Base Atlas Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 27, 2026

Base Atlas ("we", "the app") is a community layout sharing app for Clash of Clans players, developed by Gabe Wilhide as an independent fan project. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What we collect

Anonymous account identifier

On first launch, the app creates an anonymous Firebase Authentication ID for your device. This ID is not linked to your name, email, phone, contacts, or any personally identifying information. It exists solely so we can associate uploads, likes, and reports with your device, let you delete content you uploaded, and prevent abuse.

Content you upload

When you upload a base layout, we store the image you select, the Clash of Clans copy link, the Town Hall level, category, optional description and tags, your anonymous account ID, and the timestamp.

Reports and likes

When you tap the heart or flag icon, we store the corresponding action with your anonymous ID and the timestamp. Reports also include the reason you selected.

Founder status

If your upload qualifies you for the "first 100 Founder" launch promotion, we store a record containing your anonymous ID, the assigned rank, the ID of the base that earned the perk, the grant timestamp, an active/revoked flag, and (if applicable) the timestamp and reason your perk was revoked. This record is used solely to determine whether to show ads in the app. It is not shared with any third party.

Favorites

The list of bases you save as favorites is stored locally on your device only (in iOS UserDefaults on iPhone/iPad, and in SharedPreferences on Android). It is not transmitted to our servers.

Advertising identifier

If you allow tracking or personalized ads when prompted, your device's advertising identifier (the iOS IDFA on iPhone/iPad, or the Android Advertising ID on Android) is shared with Google AdMob to deliver personalized rewarded ads. If you decline, ads still work but are not personalized. You can change this any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or in Android Settings > Google > Ads.

Approximate location (from IP address)

When the app requests a rewarded ad, Google AdMob receives your device's IP address as part of the standard ad request. AdMob may use this IP address to derive an approximate (country/region-level) location for ad delivery, billing, and fraud prevention. The app itself does not request, collect, or store precise or coarse GPS location.

Crash and diagnostic data

Firebase Crashlytics may collect aggregated crash data and basic device information, such as your operating system version (iOS or Android), device model, and app version, to help us fix bugs. This data is not linked to your identity.

2. What we don't collect

We do not collect or store your name, email, phone number, address, contacts, calendar, health data, precise GPS location, browser history, or activity outside the app. We do not access your photo library beyond the single image you choose to upload. The only location-related data involved is the approximate (IP-derived) region described above, which is handled by Google AdMob and is never stored by us.

3. How we use your data

4. Who we share with

We share data only with service providers needed to deliver the app's features: Google Firebase, Google Cloud, OpenAI, and Google AdMob. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data with anyone for marketing purposes.

5. Content moderation and reporting

Uploaded images and text may be automatically scanned for safety and relevance. Tap the flag icon on any base to report it. Bases that receive multiple reports are automatically hidden pending review. We may remove any content that violates our guidelines or applicable law.

6. Deleting your data

You can delete any base you uploaded yourself from your Profile. This removes the image, all likes, and all reports tied to it. Favorites are removed automatically when you uninstall the app. To request a copy of your data, or to request deletion of your anonymous account and associated server data, email support@bsamaps.com with your anonymous ID if available. We will respond to privacy requests within 30 days.

7. Children

Base Atlas is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the app or upload content. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us at support@bsamaps.com and we will remove it.

8. Security

We use Firebase App Check, Firebase Security Rules, Anonymous Authentication, server-side moderation, and abuse controls. No internet service is 100% secure. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities as required.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
